Ben is an expert in technology, privacy, intellectual property, and consumer law.He brings decades of experience as a commercial lawyer in these areas.

That includes time at top law firms acting for large and small tech companies in NZ and internationally. But he has also worked as an in house lawyer in NZ corporates and been seconded to support many other in house teams. That has meant working closely alongside CEOs and leadership teams to deeply understand their businesses and solve legal problems in pragmatic ways. 

Much of his work involves supporting NZ companies on transactions with larger international entities (e.g. a big new customer, supplier or channel partner). He is used to navigating that dynamic and knows how important it is for businesses in this position to move quickly and finalise deals.

Once-upon-a-time he was also a co-founder of a tech start-up, so he has first hand experience of what it is like at the coalface of a tech company. His informal approach and pragmatic style very much reflect that working environment. He loves getting to know growing NZ companies and helping them disrupt markets around the world.
